Curious Circles

6pm - Yoga Room - $25* - Invitation Only

This event is invitation only. Please register only if you’ve been invited to do so. You can reach out to info@clevelandembodiment.org if you’d like to attend in the future as we open this work up to more people.

Details
Join us for an evening of exploration, consent, touch, connection, and movement in a non-sexual, safe, and facilitated container. We’ll begin by working with The 3-Minute Game for some touch-based consent work that will be familiar to those of you that attended our consent workshops last fall. From there we’ll be stepping into new territory, first by exploring connection with each other in an eye-gazing circle, and finally by stepping into a blindfolded movement practice.
This workshop is designed to be gentle, evenly paced, and facilitated in a way that holds space and prioritizes safety while also challenges us to step into real work with one another. There will be no pressure to participate in this work in any particular way and we encourage you to engage however you feel most comfortable.Facilitators
Hayleigh Robertson is a yoga teacher, massage therapist, and helps run one of our favorite ecstatic dances in the city with Artful Voyagers. She’s an intuitive spaceholder and brings a sense of true groundedness that we’re delighted to share in as part of this event.
Dannie Horton is a founding member of Cleveland Embodiment Collective, a massage therapist doing collaborative and trauma-focused work, and is overcome with pure joy to be stepping back into facilitating these small groups.Pricing
Tickets are $25. If you need to pay less than that please email info@clevelandembodiment.org. 20% of all tickets will be made available on a pay-what-you-can basis.
We ask that everybody arrive promptly at 6pm as we’ll be working in a closed container and want to be respectful of everyone’s time. We also ask that you respect our policy of not being under the influence of any alcohol. Please stay home if you’re feeling sick, and we will too. We’ll run an air purifier during the event and always have a few COVID tests on hand for anyone that would like one.

Thai-inspired
Floor Sessions

Clothed sessions on a floor mat that lean into deep stretch for pain relief and increased flexibility.

Our Therapists

Our massage therapists are all licensed by the state medical board and have a wealth of knowledge surrounding different tools and techniques that will best align with your goals.

Dannie

Dannie

Dannie (they/she) is a licensed massage therapist who offers slow, intentional massage for healing, wellness, and calm.

Julia

Leah

Leah is a licensed massage therapist with training in Ashiatsu and Thai and has a certification in trauma-informed massage.

Add-Ons without the upsell

We don't charge for add-ons. We want our therapists to feel comfortable using whatever tools or techniques are the most appropriate for a given session. And we want our clients to explore what's possible. Ask to try things!

Hot Stones

Heated stones have been used in massage for thousands of years, starting with the Ayurvedic traditions of India. They promote circulation, reduce inflammation, and are a perfect way to let go.

Stretch

Stretch is a core part of our floor-based compress & stretch sessions, but we can lean into meaningful stretch during any massage session. Promotes range of motion and increases flexibility.

Bamboo

Bringing warm bamboo into our work brings many of the same benefits as working with hot stones, but gives us a profound way to explore slow, deep, gliding pressures that melt away tension.

Cupping

The focused energy and negative pressure of cupping therapy is a great way to bring real intention to this work. Whether we leave them to sit while we work other areas or use them in deep gliding motion, you'll be glad you tried them.

Our Story

Cleveland Embodiment Collective exists because we kept dreaming of something that wasn't real, and whenever we talked about it our eyes filled with so much wonder that we've willed it into existence. This is what we've made so far.It started with community. Some of us wanted to host events... that we'd read about, or that we'd only experienced elsewhere... we wanted that here. So we started a li'l sharing circle and started doing workshops and we're still unfolding those events and figuring out what they can become. It felt like a natural transition to think about bringing our various bodywork practices together and to start imagining what that might look like. Just like with our workshops, we're still in the early stages of figuring things out. But what's emerging is a worker-owned collective of bodyworkers who are reshaping what it can mean to work in the wellness community. And that's where we're at today. It's been a busy year. And already our eyes are wide and sorting out what comes next. We've got lots of slow plans starting to turn over and step into motion. We cannot wait to share them with you.

Success!
